Biography

Appearance:
The atlan are physically identical to the humans of earth including notable physical differences between members of different atlan races including skin color, height, and general physical features.
Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Blue
Height: 1.75 m Weight: 67.00 kg

Background/History: As the fourth son of an Aetaltan nobleman, Deris had few prospects for inheritance or fortune, so he took a relative's advice and enrolled to study as a priest. He proved very talented and was soon recruited by a clerical order. His primary training is now complete and he has been sent out to spend a year and a day adventuring so that he might learn which of the Enaros calls to him most strongly.

Personality/Motivation: Deris is fully dedicated to the Enaros, however his relationship with them is less spiritual than it is patronal. He is exceptionally brave but does have a quick temper, especially if he witnesses disrespect toward the Enaros or desecration of their holy places.

Quote: "I choose my own path but my first allegiance is always to the Enaros."

"For the defilement of this sacred place, you shall pay...in blood."

"As the hand of the Enaros I shall guide you to safety."

Powers/Tactics: Having fought along side them, Deris deeply respects his teammates. He will not hesitate to put his own life in danger to help them. Although he has never desired leadership, Deris is willing to take on the role if he deems it necessary.

Campaign Use: The atlans are not native to Narosia. They were the leaders of a world spanning empire known as the Atlan Enclave. The Enclave consisted of the atlan, newardin, cheebata, and orog races and used arcane gates to bridge the gap between their world and Narosia. They Enclave discovered Narosia approximately 500 years ago and rose to become the dominant force in the region.

When a magical disaster known as the Cataclysm destroyed the arcane gates that brought the Enclave to Narosia, the surviving members of the Enclave were trapped. To this day no person has managed to reconstruct or repair an arcane gate and there is no one alive who has traveled to the Enclave home worlds. For this reason, the original home of the atlan remains a place obscured by legend and mystery.

The atlan are an adaptable race with an insatiable drive to explore, discover, and investigate. They need to know why things work as they do and once they know they feel that it is their responsibility to try to improve on what they’ve discovered. This has led them to make many great discoveries but also caused a fair amount of trouble.
