Bloodless appear as normal skeletons. They remain dormant until they sense essence, so they are often mistaken for simple remains until it is too late. They may wear remains of clothing or armor.

Bloodless stand 1.7m tall and weigh 10kg. They have no hair and no eyes.

Ecology. Bloodless are the bones of the dead whose spirits were never laid to rest. As their bodies decayed, their madness grew to become a relentless hunger. They are often found in the ruins of the Cataclysm, the Deeplands, or anywhere the dead have been forgotten.

Personality/Motivation. Bloodless hunger for flesh and blood. They have no personalities and will sit for years waiting for any source of essence and flesh to come within reach. Once they have drained twice their BODY from the flesh and blood of others through Fleshbinding, they will evolve into Draug.

Campaign Use. Bloodless are frightening and dangerous foes that can be relatively easily defeated in combat. The greatest danger is present when Bloodless outnumber their foes. There is some variation between the Bloodless of each race, but this template is appropriate for atlan, elliya, and tsverg. Loriya and tsaal would likely have -2 BODY and -1 DC on their claws, while drothmal would have +2 BODY and +1 DC on their claws. Scythaa would use this template, but with +2m leaping and +1 DC on the claws. Faelariya Bloodless are hard to imagine but certainly possible. Their STR would be 1, claws -2 DC, but the Fleshbinding would be 1 1/2d6, and they would still fly (since their flight was/is magical in nature). What weakness they do have (skeletal) can be partially offset by the remnants of armor they once wore in life.

Powers/Tactics. Bloodless move directly towards the nearest source of essence and attempt to grab it. Their Fleshbinding effect draws flesh and blood from the nearest targets to bind with its bones, often creating streams of gore from surrounding targets to the Bloodless. Once they have hold of their target, the intensity of the Fleshbinding increases.
